Miller Industries needed to consolidate operations of two separate facilities within 15 miles of each other in Mercer and Hermitage, PA. Their project scope included not just a building addition, but a renovation of their entire existing facility, which had understandably taken some abuse over the years.
This required careful coordination to limit disruption of their ongoing production. To make matters more interesting, there were also some challenges present on the area of their property that was slated for the new addition, requiring the creative problem-solving expertise of both our team, and our Civil Engineering partners.
Miller Industries is the world’s largest manufacturer of towing and recovery equipment, with executive offices in Ooltewah, Tennessee, domestic manufacturing operations in Tennessee and Pennsylvania and foreign manufacturing operations in France and the United Kingdom. We helped to expand Miller’s investment in Hermitage, PA location by constructing a 127,200 square foot building addition to house expanded manufacturing functions and upgrading their existing 90,000 square foot building.
Together with CEC, we were able to navigate and mitigate the challenges of their site and provide a clean, safe, efficient space for their production to continue. In addition to this work, Wesex has also provided equipment relocation and installation support to Miller Industries before, during and after completion of the project.
